Aisha serves as an Implementation Consultant at OpenFn, where she plays a key role in the design and solution architecture of automation and integration solutions for clients. Her expertise ensures the seamless implementation of these solutions to address the unique needs of OpenFn’s clientele.

Prior to joining OpenFn, Aisha accumulated seven years of invaluable experience at John Snow Inc. Her roles included serving as the lead engineer for USAID’s supply chain project and as the deputy lead for the digitization in USAID’s Digital Health Activity Project. During this time, Aisha developed extensive expertise in health information system design and development. She collaborated closely with Ethiopia’s Ministry of Health and various donors to implement impactful solutions in the healthcare sector.

Aisha holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Addis Ababa Institute of Technology in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s in Public Health Data Science at Addis Ababa University, further enhancing her skills and knowledge in the field.

Aisha is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Aissatou supports Open Function Group partners with solution design and implementation.

Before joining OpenFn, she was a Senior Consultant at IBM working directly with federal clients in Washington, DC. In this role, she supported the integration and modernization of key government applications through requirements gathering and analysis, as well as functional and performance testing.

She holds a B.A in Computer Science and a Minor in African Studies from Georgetown University. She is currently also a graduate student at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, pursuing an MS in Information Technology Management. Aissatou is based in Conakry.

Aleksa oversees adoption, implementation, and customer success at Open Function Group. She works closely with our strategic partners and implementing consultants to help define business requirements and to design and implement workflow automation solutions with a focus on security, local capacity building, and planning for scale—ultimately ensuring the long-term impact of OpenFn implementations.

She has helped dozens of social impact organizations navigate the technology for development/ICT4D landscape, and has direct experience implementing technologies including Salesforce, Kobo Toolbox, Open Data Kit, CommCare, TaroWorks, Telerivet SMS, PowerBI, MPESA, and more. Prior to OpenFn, Aleksa worked at Vera Solutions from the Cape Town and Mumbai hubs, managing a global portfolio of support projects and consulting with more than 50 organizations on technology selection and implementation success strategies. While based in Riga, she conducted data management training sessions for small businesses in Latvia and South Africa. Before her consulting career, Aleksa was an early team member of the Red Cross Universal App Program and supported 40 country teams to implement mobile technology for first aid and disaster preparedness education. She holds a BS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, and is based in Riga, Latvia.

Ayodele is a product manager at Open Function Group and is responsible for owning the product development lifecycle and roadmap whilst working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that our platform continues to solve mission critical problems across development and social impact organizations.

Before joining OpenFn, he co-founded PneumaCare, a health tech company that provides a healthcare delivery infrastructure for healthcare providers and startups in underserved markets to deliver quality healthcare at scale and affordable cost. Prior to PneumaCare, Ayodele worked across international public health organizations such as World Health Organization, eHealth Africa, Resolve to Save Lives among others where he led and supported technology and data initiatives to improve access to healthcare and timely health emergency response across Low Middle Income Countries.

He holds an BTech degree in Remote Sensing and Geospatial Information Systems from the Federal University of Technology, Akure. He is based in Birmingham, United Kindgom and you can follow him on twitter @iyoaye.

Elias focuses on adaptors and converting client requirements into data transformation in OpenFn jobs. He also works on the aspects of the platform that support job writing and project configuration. He is also a obsessed with automating his daily tasks, finding the simplest of possible solutions, and the quest for efficiency in collaborative work.He is a supporter of the open-source movement and has a deep interest in natural computing algorithms, machine learning, statistics, and probability.

He strongly believes that advances in AI and data processing will provide great opportunities for solving Africa’s biggest challenges—such as linguistic barriers and youth education. Elias teaches mathematics and computer programming.

In 2018 he co-founded a community of african researchers, teachers, students and entrepreneurs that come together to use cutting edge technologies like ML, connected devices and blockchain for solving local african problems. That community, GalsenAI, now has more that 3500 active members and has run more than 12 social projects in 2 years. He is based in Dakar and you can follow him on twitter @eliaswalyba.

Emmanuel focuses on design, development, and testing work related to the OpenFn adaptors, jobs and platform. He works with clients and the services team to convert functional requirements into clean, manageable operations, extending the utility of their integrations.

He is currently part of the organizing committee of PyCon Tanzania, where he shares his passion and support for the open-source movement by bringing the Python community together to share different real-world use cases of the programming language.

Before joining OpenFn, he co-founded a software startup called irabu and served as Operation lead for his last 2 years. irabu remains with the mission to build simple and valuable solutions for SMEs, having designed and built a digital solutions called UZA. A SaaS product that gives SMEs power to market, sell, and retain customers with less friction. He also worked at Code for Tanzania where he was leading the sensors.Africa initiative seeks to address data gaps by providing low-cost sensors, which people can use to measure and monitor the quality of the air and water in their communities.

Frank is an Elixir Engineer focusing on the OpenFn Lightning platform.

Before joining OpenFn, he was a working at Podii, a software consulting firm based in Kisumu, Kenya, where he lead and contributed to various client projects.

He is actively helping to organize Elixir meetups at ElixirKenya.

Isma is driving the development of build-time AI-generated adaptors workflow code. He is passionate about technology and its inner workings, finding joy in creating impactful solutions.

In 2022, he co-founded HISMA Association, a non-profit organization focused on empowering vulnerable communities in northern Cameroon through impactful eye care and education initiatives. Together with their dedicated partners, HISMA has successfully conducted, and continues to engage in free surgery campaigns, extensive awareness programs, training for community health workers, and provision of educational scholarships to children.

He began his career in full-stack web development before transitioning to machine learning. He has a robust background spanning diverse ML projects encompassing autonomous driving, embedded AI, and cloud-based LLMs, he showcases a strong penchant for versatility and an insatiable curiosity. Furthermore, he actively contributes to research, notably publishing work on inference time reduction, thereby contributing to the evolving landscape of AI.

Isma holds an M.Sc. in Embedded Systems, specializing in Artificial Intelligence, and a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the European Institute of Technology (TU Berlin & KTH Stockholm). He is based in Hamburg.

Joe is a JavaScript and Typescript specialist, focusing on the tools that allow users to build, execute, and debug workflows and adaptors in a secure NodeJs environment.

As a JavaScript engineer for the last 16 years, change is in Joe’s blood. He learned to code in Java at the University of Sussex, UK, where he studied Artificial Intelligence. In industry he has worked on language grammars, syntactic and semantic code analysis, natural language generation and data visualisation, as well as rich front ends in frameworks from Dojo to React.

The uniting factor in Joe’s work is a passion for providing delightful user experiences, whether in a web page, visualisation or command-line tool.

Kristen oversees accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting at Open Function Group.

Prior to OpenFn, she served as the financial reporting and accounting manager at a healthcare software company and worked as an auditor at PwC, focusing on insurance companies. Kristen received her B.A. and Masters in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Texas. She is based in Houston, Texas.

As the Head of Sales, Meghan is responsible for driving revenue growth through the entire sales process, from lead generation to deal closure and upselling. She collaborates closely with Customer Success and Product teams to develop demand generation and marketing strategies ensuring that full value is unlocked for sustainable growth.

She has garnered over 25 years of experience in business development and consulting, having honed her B2B partnership-building and strategic leadership skills and expertise through diverse roles across the financial services sector, private higher education sector, NGO Education Trust, and Ed-Tech Youth Talent Development social enterprise. Meghan is an enthusiastic champion for initiatives dedicated to promoting interaction and collaboration with the business community to drive forward transformation and development goals.

Before joining the OpenFn group, Meghan led a youth-focused social enterprise and assisted them in developing a successful scale-up strategy in the B2B Market as well as scoping and implementing a national career awareness campaign that reached over 1500 beneficiaries in underserved communities across South Africa. Prior to that she fulfilled the Head of Corporate Sales role for Red & Yellow Creative School of Business helping them establish and scale up the B2B sales team as well as actively leading international expansion, accreditation, and partnership projects in Ethiopia and Mauritius.

She holds an MBA in Digital Transformation from the University of Barcelona - Zigurat Global Institute of Technology, a Bachelors in Economics from the Nelson Mandela University in South Africa, together with Project Management Certifications. She is currently completing the requirements to become a PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)®

Rita supports Open Function Group’s partners in implementation planning and capacity building. Her focus is on how organizations build towards long-term (i.e. flexible) interoperability in a sustainable way.

She is the co-founder of the data training and consulting agency Fringe Graph, a firm dedicated to making technology more accessible for social impact organisations. She has trained a wide range of non-profit organisations, journalists, and researchers on data literacy, analysis and visualisation with a focus on achieving lasting personal, organisational and social impact. Before joining OpenFn she led the data and technology implementation work at Africa’s Voices Foundation. She holds and MA in Philosophy from the Eotvos Lorand University in Hungary. Roger focuses application strategy, architecture, and development for OpenFn Lightning.

He began his career in 2001 and has been working with Elixir and Erlang since 2018. He has honed a deep interest in highly available, fault-tolerant systems. He believes in brining great care and attention to all aspects of the secure software development lifecycle. Lately he has been involved with decentralized architectures such as blockchains and dreams about developing software that can impact many lives and support diverse communities to help them preserve nature.

He holds an BA in Computer Engineering, he has taken some cloud certifications targeting software scalability while enjoying life in Lisbon.

Rory focuses on the tools and processes that enable security, stability, and scalability-S3—at OpenFn. His work in testing cuts across our platform and open-source technologies.

Rory is a full-stack systems developer with over 16 years of experience. He thrives when problem solving, has a penchant for Elixir, Erlang, and Ruby, and loves teaching—particularly things like TDD and Scrum. After 7 years working in telecommunications engineering, he started work at Hetzner to join them in a long journey of improving systems quality. This would see the introduction of technologies such as Ruby, NodeJS, Clojure, and Elixir. Stuart oversees technology at Open Function Group. He focuses on our approach to application development, leads our engineering team, and is responsible for the architectural design of OpenFn’s key products—how they fit together with each other and the rest of the digital public goods ecosystem.

He is an experienced software developer with a passion for architecture, bug hunting and performance of web applications. Over his career he has developed skills in systems integration, scaling, automation, testing, problem solving & project management. He is fond of Phoenix, Elixir, Ruby, Javascript, automated testing and solving problems. He was a member of the lead engineers for the Gauteng Online project, an ambitious government endeavour providing 2300 schools in the Gauteng with computers and internet. It resulted in one of the largest wireless mesh networks in the world, and providing over two-hundred thousand students with internet access. All using Ubuntu and open source technologies. He is a frequent speaker at RubyFuza and has worked with Railsbridge Cape Town; an initiative to improve the diversity of the software industry by providing a safe space for women and their friends to learn how to code. Hunter is responsible for designing, developing, and testing work on various OpenFn products including and not limited to OpenFn adaptors, ETL tools, CLI, OpenFn platform, documentation, marketing sites, and various other client projects.

Hunter is an active member of CodeHiveX, AkiraChix alumni community where she helps mentor young women in JavaScript.

Before starting OpenFn, Hunter worked at Shara where she helped design and build internal tools Software. She also worked as a consultant at The Pathology Network where she built platforms to allow for efficient pathological tests to help in the early detection of cancer.

Taylor oversees partnerships and strategy at Open Function Group and is responsible for the long-term sustainability of the solutions we provide—strengthening digital public goods and digital public Infrastructure while delivering more efficient and effective health & humanitarian services in under-resourced settings.

He is a Senior Atlantic Fellow for Social & Economic Equity. He received the first annual Harvard SECON Social Impact Award and the 2017 Pizzigati Prize for Software Development in the Public Interest. He was named to Forbes’ 30 under 30 list, is a 2012 Echoing Green Fellow, a 2014 Rainer Arnhold Fellow, and a 2015 PopTech Fellow. He serves as an advisor to the Technical, Product, and Architecture Committees for the ITU/GIZ/DIAL-lead GovStack initiative, accelerating the digital transformation of government services through the adoption of digital public goods.

Before starting OpenFn, he co-founded Vera Solutions and served as CEO for its first 4 years. Vera is a leader in the ICT4D space, an impact-first technology company with more than 100 employees and 300 implementations in 40+ countries. Before Vera, he lived and worked in a dozen countries in Africa while focusing on curriculum and M&E at a major public-health implementer and consulting on intervention design, training, and monitoring & evaluation with more than a dozen NGOs around Africa and Asia. He holds an MSc in inequalities and social sciences from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a focus on technology policy and a BA in religious studies with a focus on Tibetan Buddhism from Amherst College.
